Lots to say!

Lots of "little" updates, so here we go... pure randomness! 1. Lilleigh said "baby" today! The story: I was getting her up from nap and singing my silly made up songs that I sing to her - something about "Lilleigh Baby" - and when I laid her down to change her diaper, she said "baby." Multiple times. She kept repeating it because I was getting so excited, and clearly she understood that she was saying a real word. So proud of my "baby" girl! This isn't a photo from that moment, just a photo from today. Isn't she so stinkin' cute? And look at that fun cloth diaper! We were given it for a product review for Thankfully Thrifty ! 2. We got two new chickens this weekend. If you remember, we started out with four and then found out two were roosters , so for a long while we've had two. They've given us about a dozen eggs a week, which is pretty awesome, except now I want eggs like daily, plus baking. So a dozen isn...

Spring DeStash

Image
It's Spring DeStash over at KoJoDesigns! That means it's time to use up that stash of craft supplies that have been sitting there, orphaned to other projects. So I took this opportunity to use up a yellow onesie and some jersey-knit shirts that I had sitting in my project bin to create Miss Lilleigh a dress! I loosely followed this tutorial from KoJo to do it. Then I added a rosette! I would have included a photo of Lilleigh in the dress, but she's sleeping. And if I don't post this while she's sleeping, it may not get posted at all... I'll try to update with a photo of her in the dress soon though! I'm linking up...

I'm feeling inspired.

I THINK I could make this...

Image courtesy of Pottery Barn When we decided we wouldn't find out the baby's gender, I thought about a Texas theme for the room. And with the bedding we already have for the full-size bed staying in the room... ...and the crib bedding I just ordered...  Again, image courtesy of Pottery Barn . Check out how the patchwork and stars detail matches the artwork above. Now back to what I was saying... Given the beddings I've chosen, I think this piece of art would coordinate well. But for $200 (on sale!), no thanks. So what do you think? Can I pull off making this? If you have an idea of how to get all those small pieces of perfectly cut wood, let me know!! The floor is now open... ideas please!
