Because Anabelle was complaining that I have not updated this blog recently and because I just found these cute pics from our last Houston visit, here's a post for my sissy!

Galveston Recap and Group Pic

Image
We've been home for a week, and I've been desperately trying to catch up and get back in the groove of day to day life around here! I showed you lots of pics of Galv, but here's a cute group photo I just had to post! We had a lot of fun playing with the grandparents and cousins. Lilleigh really loved playing with Connor, her cousin only 3 months older. I love having them close in age! Every morning she was wake up and say "Car-wa" (aka Connor) and be ready to play! Most days we hung out at the beach in the morning, brought the babies in for lunch, and laid them down for afternoon naps. Then we would all relax inside for a bit and play out on the deck with the baby pool when they woke up. And each night, we enjoyed yummy home cooking... we were broken up into pairs and each took turns cooking. It was a pretty great and relaxing set up!

18 months!

Whoa! Lil is officially a year and a half! Time has flown by! And I enjoy my job as her mom more each day. She is oodles of fun! Here's a little about my munchkin at 18 months... She loves to hold hands, and she will say, "hand," and then reach for your hand to take you somewhere. She understands a ton too! This always amazes me. My friend Sylvia was over, and I was telling her about this great kids book by Eric Carle that we got at the library and how Lil loves to "raise her shoulders like a buffalo" like in the book. Lil grabbed Sylvia's hand and took her back to her room to her nightstand where the book was laying! The girl doesn't miss a beat. The girl loves to sing! And her songs of choice are ABCs, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and Wheels on the Bus. Lil loves Elmo and Dora! She's totally in a daddy phase... We are still experimenting with potty training - aka taking it slow and getting used to the potty. She's gone pee once and po...

17 Months!

Lilleigh is 17 months old! Trying to steal a purse from the mannequin. The girl has style! Not happy that Mommy was holding another baby. She immediately came up to my lap with her baby doll and say in it. Laying down with Sammy, watching Nemo. At 17 months, Lilleigh... Makes fish faces and noises! Makes lots of funny faces! She loves making her eyes really big and smiling until her face shakes. Funny because I totally used to do this! Talks up a storm, but this shouldn't surprise anyone. She's been chatty since day 1. Some days I am worn out when Brendon comes home, simply from listening to her chat! Again, I totally did this, so I know, I know - I had it coming. Loves to sit in those Little Tykes cars. Our neighbors have one, so we just borrow theirs. If she had her own, surely she wouldn't even notice it! Loooves Elmo and calls him "Melmo!" She will sit and watch a good chunk of Elmo - maybe 20-30 minutes! Nemo is a favorite also - "...

Happy birthday, Brendon!

On Tuesday we celebrated B's 28th birthday! We went to one of our favorite breakfast places that morning before work, and we got free tacos! I wrote a blog post about this hot spot on Dallas Moms Blog recently, and apparently it's brought them a lot of business. So the manager comped our breakfast and gave us free meal coupons as well! Pretty great! ;) Check out these cute pics of him and Lil I took while he was opening gifts!

Our Anniversary Video!

I almost forgot to share the anniversary video Brendon made me! How sweet is this?? Home Movies: Summer Afternoon from James Lankford on Vimeo . PS Every year I make Brendon a photo book for our anniversary as a recap of the year. And a new tradition started this year is that Brendon will make a video for me for our anniversary, recapping the year. This one obvi isn't a recap, but still so sweet!
