The First Pregnany Update: 14 Weeks

Image
Since I am FINALLY starting to feel better, I thought I'd give a pregnancy update! I am now 14 weeks and definitely showing. I haven't gotten any "When are you due?" comments though, so I'm pretty certain I'm still in that awkward "Is she pregnant? Does she just need to watch the desserts?" stage. But I know it's only a matter of time! Sickness As far as sickness goes, I was basically "sick," as in hunger-induced nauseous, every night by 5 or 6 PM, if not before, and on through the night. I am so so so thankful for a hubby that loves spending time with his little girl and can get home early enough to let me retire to bed during those evening hours. We resubscribed to Netflix, and I've been watching Good Luck Charlie , mainly because I've had a few people now tell me Lilleigh looks like the little girl in that show. It's a Disney channel show, but let me just say, I love it. No drama. All funny. All cute. So how ...

Lilleigh is 2!

Image
I think this photo pretty much sums it up! But a few things not on there... She's been doing excellent at potty training! She's only had two accidents in the last month, which I think is ridiculous - and awesome! I'm thankful. But totally didn't expect that. I think it's because she's a perfectionist. It's already starting to come out. She gets really upset when she messes up - like when she falls in front of people or something like that. When she had accidents in the beginning, she would get upset about that also. So I guess it's not that surprising. In the last few months, she's had nightmares. She doesn't always talk about what scared her when she wakes up. But she wakes up completely frightened, and if I ask her if she had a bad dream, she will say yes. The other night before bed, we read Going on a Bear Hunt , which I thought was completely harmless, a fun rhyme and story. She LOVED the book, but then she took 2-1/2 hours to go to sle...

Super heroes and tutus, Lilleigh is 2!

Image
Lilleigh is TWO! We began her birthday celebration the weekend before her birthday, and it will continue on throughout the month as every grandparent makes their way up! So fun!! She is one blessed little girl to have so much family that loves her! We threw a small birthday bash for her at our house. It was a morning play date, complete with breakfast casserole, fruit, and Brendon's amazing cinnamon rolls! All of our backyard play structures (aka day care central), many balloons, and the bounce house, which we borrowed from friends, really made the party for the kiddos. They had a ball. And hopefully all took really great naps! The theme? Super heroes and tutus, Lilleigh Austen is turning TWO!  All of the kids came dressed in tutus or super hero capes. Kids love dressing up, so this just seemed fun! Plus it rhymed - AND Lilleigh's favorite thing right now is a tutu! So there you have it. Also I wrote on the evite for kids to each bring one unwrapped children's book in...

Good news!

We have lots to be thankful for! In December we were surprised - but thrilled - to find out that we were/are pregnant again! And for the last several weeks I've been oh so grateful to be plagued with "morning" (err... night) sickness! Though the nausea is so not fun, after having a miscarriage I'm so grateful to know that a healthy baby is growing inside me! (No, I didn't have nausea with the last one.) I'm sure I will have more of a pregnancy update soon, but the iPhone is making me nauseous... No pictures today! I just wanted to share our news!

Lil at 23 months!

Image
Lil is almost 2!! Time certainly flies! For those of you who subscribe, you may get a 22 month post as well because apparently it's been sitting in drafts and was never posted.. oops! Here's a glimpse of Lil at 23 months. Lil loves ... To play dress up! She wears a tutu and twirls around every chance she gets. Lip gloss! She is kinda obsessed. I take partial responsibility because I sorta have a chapstick addiction. But this girl is out of control. I think I'm going to need to start hiding and locking up my lip gloss stash! Wearing Mom's shoes. She's currently walking around in a pair of my black wedges as we speak. Pushing her baby doll stroller, of course.  The movie Lady and the Tramp and Cinderella . Lil has learned and is learning ... To talk up a storm! Okay she really already had that down, but she can have a full conversation with you.  "Count." She can recite numbers - sometimes in the right order and sometimes not. And we are workin...

Potty Training!

Image
I recently reported that potty training was at a halt . Scratch that. On Tuesday after nap, Lil asked if she could wear her Dora underwear, which I had bought a few months back. To be honest, I was shocked that she asked. I told her she could wear them but that meant she was a big girl and needed to use the big girl potty. She basically ignored that comment, not thrilled about the idea I'm sure, and asked again for the Dora underwear. So I helped her put them on, and off she went to play! The Trial Run We had a date night scheduled for that night, so Lil would be at a friend's house. I definitely was not going to bring over a child in big girl panties to their house within the first hours of her potty training. So she has on her big girl panties for a total of two hours that afternoon. During that two hours, she had no accidents, but she also didn't pee period. That in itself showed me that she could actually hold her bladder and somewhat control it, and it gave me the...

Lilleigh at 22 months

Image
Lilleigh is 22 months! Here's a little about Lil this month... Lilleigh loves... Her baby dolls, tucking them into bed (which is usually the oven to her kitchen), and pushing them in the stroller. Her new gold shoes. Such a girly girl!  Singing "Jesus Loves Me." Her favorite books are Fancy Nancy books, Llama Llama books, The Beginners Bible , Go Dog Go (the short version, thank goodness!), etc. If you ask her, "Do you like my hat?" she will say, "No I do not like your hat." (Thanks to Go Dog Go .) Lilleigh dislikes... Well apparently she dislikes a lot of things. "I don't like it" is her new favorite phrase. I'm sure she has other dislikes, but none come to mind at the moment. Her sizes... 24 month/2T. Some 18 month still. Size 6 toddler shoes.  Eating... She's become a little bit of a pickier eater. Not terribly, but compared to before. I think it's an act though. I know this is the age that the...
