Houston day 2

Image
The girls had lunch with Tita and Morgan at HCE. (Nonpic but we will get one with them soon!)  Tonight we had dinner with Papa Larry, Aunt Mere and Danny, Uncle Ryan and Aunt Tarryn and cousins.          And a random pic from today of James, once again in a pink world!    The adventures tuckered James out!

Houston day 1

Image
I have this grand idea to do a blog post a day, even just one photo or sentence about our day. That may not be super realistic, but I'll try it for the week!  Day 1 - Momma and kids drove 3 hours solo to The Woodland to see GG and Bill and cousins. We listened to Prince Caspian on the way. Lilleigh fed James a bottle. He slept some and fussed some. But we all made it and with no stops. I'd say it was successful!  And the girls have had a blast since getting here. Playing in the toy room, dying Easter eggs, eating cereal (and a legit dinner).

Three Months

Image
James,  Happy three month, baby boy! You're officially not a newborn anymore! I have no idea how much you weigh, but you're still rocking the scales for sure. You wear size 2 diapers and 6 month clothes. You're getting stronger. You can sit in the bumbo and high chair for little bits of time. If you aren't in momma's arms, your favorite places to be are watching me in your little lamb seat or playing on your play mat. I think you might be over your swing. You also love the stroller or facing out in the baby carrier. Makes me really glad I upgraded both our double and single strollers this go round!  You drool a ton and love to chew on your hands. Sweet self soothing baby! My favorite part of this month has been your laugh! We've only seen it twice, but it has been so special! Once for Momma and once for Aunt Randi. We can't wait to hear it again! You are currently going to bed around 7:30. It was earlier, but then DST happened. Gives momma some m...

Lilleigh is 6!

Lilleigh, Happy (late) birthday! You are 6 years old and such a light. You are such a gem of a big sister. You are constantly helping with Adeline and with baby James. Your siblings adore you. And you are definitely a little momma. You and Adeline play so well together - most of the time. It blesses me to watch you two pretend together. Tonight in the bathtub you were talking to Adeline in a British accent pretending to be the Queen of Narnia. You make me laugh. You two treat each other like best friends, and I pray that you will two will always have a special friendship.   You love being outdoors and in nature. So this year for your birthday party, we had a camping theme. Some of your sweet friends came over for a "drop off" party, and we made smores by the campfire, played games, made necklaces, bounced on the bounce house, and played inside the tent. Of course it turned cold that week, after weeks of warm weather, but no one seemed to mind!  This year you learned...

James at 2 months!

Image
Jamesy-boo, You're two months! Oh and what a fun month it's been!  You top the charts at 13 lb 11 oz - 80th percentile - and 24" long - 95th percentile. Oh, and 100th percentile for head size! I'm sure that means you're a genius! You've started to coo and smile, which have been my favorites of this month for sure. Sometimes after you nurse in the early morning hours you'll smile and get chatty with me. I love getting a few minutes JUST with you!  You're getting more interactive, and not just with us! You like talking to your animals on the play mat and yourself in the mirror on the mat! You'll bat at toys on there and grab at them. The drooling and bringing your hands to your mouth has started! Thankfully now they have these cute bandana bibs you can wear, so you're a stylish drool machine. Another favorite - you're sleeping so much better! You can do 5-7 hour stretches at night. Since you're usually in bed b...

One month

Image
Dear third born child,      You are one month old! The month has flown by - and I'm thankful because asking Momma to survive on such short increments of sleep, 45 min to an hour and a half, for three weeks is a little nuts-o! Thankfully you started to stretch to 3 and 4 hours... for all of two nights before getting your first cold. Now we've been stuck at 2ish again for about a week. But it's better than it was. I'm praying you're well soon - both because you sound miserable and because I want more sleep.      Sometimes late at night, before bed, you cry, and I can't figure out why. It's the end of the day, and I'm beyond tired anyway. I try to get you to nurse. again. after you've already cluster-fed. I try to lay you down to sleep. Or rock you to sleep. Or sway you to sleep. Or even just cuddle you to sleep. Sometimes you like that. Especially if mixed with rocking. Usually I conclude that you're overtired. Big sis Adeline used to get overtired...

Snow

Brendon captured some great photos of the girls playing with what remained of our snow the day after our snow day last week.
