My Growing Tummy... Not Yet a Bump

8 weeks... I tried this as a "before" pic. But I was already getting a little chub.

My sister-in-law at 21 or 22 weeks and me at 9 weeks

10 weeks. The baby was the size of a lime.

I posted these because I've been asked for pictures, but as you can tell, there's no real bump yet. It's the uncute pre-bump weight gain.

    Your so TINY Ashleigh!! Your gonna be a cute pregnant momma though! That bump will start showing itself very soon I have a feeling! :-)

Today my brother Austen would have been 24. We're only 16 months apart. I loved having a brother so close in age. Growing up I always had a playmate and a partner in crime when it came to picking on our younger two siblings, William and Anabelle. William didn't even come around until 1992, so for years it was just the two of us. And eventually we became 4 (siblings)... and now more... and our sibling love grew. But Austen and I will always have that special bond. For those of you who don't know, my brother struggled with addiction for a long time. Thursday he lost that battle. The Birth Story

The birth story, as promised... For the few days preceding labor, I had woken up in the middle of the night to premenstrual-type cramping. So when I woke up on Super Bowl Sunday to this cramping again I didn't think too much of it until a few hours later when the cramps were still there and consistent - whether I was sitting down and eating, walking around, or trying to sleep. I figured I was in labor. Still, the contractions really didn't hurt. My back ached though, since the baby was turned on her side.  Around lunch time Brendon, Sammy (the dog), and I went on a long walk around the neighborhood. By the end of the walk, it was getting more uncomfortable for me to walk, and contractions were growing stronger and closer together. We went home and watched Freaks and Geeks (great show), while I leaned over the birth ball. My back pain was becoming much more intense - more so than the stomach pain, which paled in comparison.
