17 Months!

Image
Lilleigh is 17 months old! Trying to steal a purse from the mannequin. The girl has style! Not happy that Mommy was holding another baby. She immediately came up to my lap with her baby doll and say in it. Laying down with Sammy, watching Nemo. At 17 months, Lilleigh... Makes fish faces and noises! Makes lots of funny faces! She loves making her eyes really big and smiling until her face shakes. Funny because I totally used to do this! Talks up a storm, but this shouldn't surprise anyone. She's been chatty since day 1. Some days I am worn out when Brendon comes home, simply from listening to her chat! Again, I totally did this, so I know, I know - I had it coming. Loves to sit in those Little Tykes cars. Our neighbors have one, so we just borrow theirs. If she had her own, surely she wouldn't even notice it! Loooves Elmo and calls him "Melmo!" She will sit and watch a good chunk of Elmo - maybe 20-30 minutes! Nemo is a favorite also - "

Happy birthday, Brendon!

On Tuesday we celebrated B's 28th birthday! We went to one of our favorite breakfast places that morning before work, and we got free tacos! I wrote a blog post about this hot spot on Dallas Moms Blog recently, and apparently it's brought them a lot of business. So the manager comped our breakfast and gave us free meal coupons as well! Pretty great! ;) Check out these cute pics of him and Lil I took while he was opening gifts!

Our Anniversary Video!

I almost forgot to share the anniversary video Brendon made me! How sweet is this?? Home Movies: Summer Afternoon from James Lankford on Vimeo . PS Every year I make Brendon a photo book for our anniversary as a recap of the year. And a new tradition started this year is that Brendon will make a video for me for our anniversary, recapping the year. This one obvi isn't a recap, but still so sweet!

5 Years and Weaning

Image
On Saturday Brendon and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary !! Val was so thoughtful to come up and babysit Lil for the day (such a chore for a grandparent, I know) so that B and I could have date day! We enjoyed being able to sleep in, grab Starbucks and walk in the park with Sammy (like old times), run a couple errands together, grab free cupcakes from Sprinkles , and enjoy dinner at our favorite restaurant in downtown McKinney . I did make us have a bite of our original wedding cake one last time. My friend's parents still (after 30-something years!) have a bite of their cake at every anniversary, and I thought that was super cute and wanted to do that too. But Brendon thinks it's weird! Ha. And he does not like to participate. He does though, begrudgingly. But I figured after 5 years, it might be time to throw it out! And since Val was here this weekend, I took the opportunity to wean Lil. I had been planning to do it sometime this month because we have a fam reu

Ad-Meier-ing Montana

We finally made it to visit our sweet friends, the Meiers, in Montana! I went to SMU with Nora. We were Chi Omegas together, roommates my junior year, and great friends. Brendon and Andrew both went to Baylor and became friends through Nora and me. They have the same hilarious sense of humor. Love that. If you're married, you know that married friendships look different because ideally with couple friends, both the husband and wife click with their counterparts. With some couples, this has come easily for us, and with others, it's taken work. But the Meiers are one of those couples that, as couples, we totally click. Love that! They're gems. And just to brag on them a bit more - they were amazing hosts! Nora was so thoughtful to grab anything we might need at the store, including diapers, to make it easier for us when traveling. And they had great meals planned for each night and adventures, each day! A few of the highlights from our trip... Local nature reserve with al
