Lilleigh's Princesses and Knights Third Birthday Party!

Lilleigh turns 3 on Thursday, so this weekend we celebrated with a princesses and knights birthday party! It was really such a fun time! We are blessed to have so many great friends want to come celebrate our little girl!

All ready for the party! And notice the hardwoods Brendon just installed! Before and after post to come!

Super thankful to Lilleigh's Tita for this cake! There's a long story behind it. But we are thankful a cake made it to the party and that Mommy didn't have to make it because as you will see, my time was spent elsewhere.

My awesome sister-in-law went to a princesses and knight birthday party recently and snagged this castle party prop from her friend. Perfect!

We have lucked out the past two years with awesome weather for Lilleigh's birthday parties. Considering Lilleigh was born in between two ice storms, we really have been super lucky! So I had a craft table set up for indoor fun as well, just in case, we couldn't be outside! The weather ended up being perfect, so the crafts were just a bonus!

Every princess and knight need a wand and sword!

We've been talking about her party for weeks, so I was surprised last week when Lilleigh mentioned something about me and Brendon being dressed up as a princess and prince... Thankfully Randi (or really, her mother-in-law, Awesome Susan) came through with Snow White and Prince Charming costumes from her costume ROOM! Lilleigh was so excited to have Mommy match her! Oh and for those of you following me on Instagram, notice that she has a new Snow White dress today! Wahoo! Thanks, Grammy, for buying this way back when! We saved it for something special!

February in Dallas is a little risky to count on an outdoor birthday party, but I took the risk anyway and built (with lots of help!) a castle from refrigerator boxes! It was actually not nearly as hard as I thought it would be, but it's definitely not a one woman job either! On Thursday when a friend and I were building this thing, the wind was knocking it every which way and tearing the rivets out. I prayed and prayed that there would be no wind, rain, or ice for the birthday party, and hooray awesome castle weather!

As someone else already commented, our neighbor Sean really should consider renting himself out for birthday parties. He jousted with Lilleigh and her friend, Tanner, and who knows how many other kiddos! The kids love him.

I love this photo my friend Lindsay got of Lilleigh! I had Lindsay take photos, and she did an awesome job! I really hadn't thought about the talents and skills of Lilleigh's friends' parents when we made her party invite list, but really we did well! We had a jouster, photographer, multiple castle builders, cake and coffee picker uppers, costume finders... really a great group!

Precious Emma!

Baby Lu! (I guess not so baby anymore...)

My prince charming!

Crafts! The girls decorated crowns and the boys decorated shields.

I also really love this photo Lindsay got!

Singing happy birthday to our birthday girl!

I love this photo of Kendall, and the one below it of Cora!

Sweet Tanner loves his costumes possibly as much as Lilleigh. He had his knight costume ready to go!
Three Snow Whites!

And one more! Adeline was just napping.

Lilleigh and her sweet friend Ava!

Such a daddy's girl! I love it!
Papa Larry made it up for the occasion too! And he and Lil were quite sneaky towards the end of the party, eating the rest of the cake!
It was a super fun third birthday party! I fear that building that castle and then dressing up may have set high expectations for future years! Good think I have a whole year to think about how to top that...
