Adeline is 10 months!

Image
Adeline is 10 months! How is this year flying by so fast?? Her first birthday is just around the corner. I'm starting to be in party planning mode... she will be 1, and just a month before Brendon is 30! If only Brendon loved birthdays the way I do... humph. Here is some of what we were up to this month with little Miss Adeline... Swimming lessons with Mommy and Holly! She did great gliding on her tummy in the water and kicking. We also worked on holding her breath, going under water, floating on her back, and reaching the side. Baby steps. Guarding Mom's coupons at the grocery store. Serious business. Couponista in training. GG and Bill sent the girls matching Princeton shirts. Bill is hopeful... Mom bought Adeline a couple of pairs of OshKosh B'Gosh overalls... they are so stinkin' cute! Especially on this cute girl! Adeline is as into everything as she can be for not being on the move. She reaches for things constantly, and even reached fo...

Sickness and Adeline at 9 Months

Image
I am a week late on this post and realizing I have posted anything since Adeline's 8 month post! Life has been a little crazy here! To catch you up to speed... Right after Easter, Brendon got food poisoning and ended up being taken by ambulance to the ER in the middle of the night! The vomiting and such had lasted 24+ hours, his stomach was severely cramping, and he was dehydrated. Thankfully he is okay, but it was a scary night! This did end up being out first "need" for Samaritan, and that's been an incredible experience so far! We are only partially through this first need process, but I am already so grateful that we switched from health insurance to a Christian cost share for healthcare needs! Recently, just over two weeks ago, Brendon came down with what we are pretty sure was the flu. This lasted from Thursday to Monday, when on Monday his symptoms changed completely from flu-like to throat stuff with swollen tonsils. (We think he caught something either wh...

8-Month-Old Adeline

Image
Adeline is 8 months old!! Sweet girl has decided she wants to be awake longer, which is great by me - we love having her company! She can't really seem to decide what time suits her best though... Some days she wakes up an extra hour (or two!) early. Some, she wakes normal time but then wants to go to bed an hour and a half later. And other times, she barely takes a morning or afternoon nap. So we are sorta trying to figure out her new sleep/wake schedule at the moment! She loves to roll around to play with her toys. She's sitting up - assisted. That seems so late to me, but apparently there's a very large "normal" range for sitting up on their own. I have a feeling she will become stable sitting up and learn to crawl very quickly after! She loves playing with her feet and lying on her tummy. Playing on her tummy (or rolling) with toys and playing in the exersaucer are two of her favorite activities! Adeline cut her first two teeth! Both on the ...

Brendon in Israel

Image
Recently Brendon had the opportunity to go to Israel with work! While he was there, he took several videos for Lilleigh and texted them to me. It is so neat to get to see where stories we read in the Bible actually took place. And the fact that they are from an awesome daddy to his sweet girl makes them even more precious! Brendon gave me permission to post them to share with y'all, so I'm including them below! Enjoy! These first three are from Lazarus' tomb. Here are the temple steps. Don't mind the fact that the screen flips. Good to know for the future. The Valley of Elah, where David fought Goliath.

4 Years, Remembering Austen

Image
Last Tuesday marked four years since Austen's death . Though his birthday is two days after the anniversary, the anniversary and the days approaching it always seem to be the hardest. Last weekend I sat at our dining room table with Brendon, thinking about the week to come, and cried. It makes me sad to think about him being gone. In some ways, it seems like just yesterday that he was here, and in others, it seems like he's been gone forever... I've had two girls since then, and even though Lilleigh knows all about Austen, it's crazy to think she will never get to meet him. Monday I went with a group of mommy friends and their littles to the Perot Museum, and it was a great way to lift my spirits! I have such a strong bond with these moms, as our kids were all born within two months of each other and for that first year especially we were each others' life line! Tuesday was the actual anniversary. My sweet friend Katie G. watched my girls for me that morn...

Adeline at 7 months

Image
This month Adeline turned 7 months! Here's a bit about Adeline this month... She loves to roll! She will tummy to back and back to tummy over and over again as she plays with her toys. She also loves to sit in her exersaucer and walker (the sit-in kind) and play with toys as she watches what everyone else is doing. Anything involving Big Sis Lil is very fun! Lots of laughs and smiles for her big sis. When she wants to go to bed, she usually either puts her open hand to her mouth, fingers touching her lips, or puts her two middle fingers in her mouth and sucks on them, making a backwards "I love you" sign with her hand. She is petite! 30th percentile for height, I believe, and 5-10 for weight. She can still fit into some 3-6 month clothes, though she is mainly in 6 month. And she wears size 2 diapers. I was thinking she and Lilleigh would miss seasons on clothes, but I think I may go pull out the bin of clothes I dismissed because some actually may work for summer! ...

Seeing Double

I have this photo of Lilleigh framed from when she was 5-1/2 months old. And I'm a little late, but here is Adeline wearing the same angel wings at 7 months. People often say the girls look alike. They totally do, but they're also each very distinct. What do you think?
